Hello Mark,

I want to congratulate you on the excellent series of articles honouring Anne Marie Latraverse and Bill Mustos. As everyone in this industry will tell you, a success for anyone is a success for us all so we applaud their tremendous success with Flashpoint.

As co-chair of the Casting Directors Society of Canada (CDC) I couldn't help but notice that not once in seven pages was the casting director's name mentioned. Numerous times the casting was referred to as crucial. Numerous times it was praised for its excellence. It seems to me that at least once in all the seven pages of text, there could have been room to add four words to the discussion of the cast, even in brackets; "casting director Marissa Richmond CDC."

While we thank you for the article about casting that appeared several issues ago, we feel that it would be mutually beneficial to name the casting director in articles where all the other "keys" are mentioned. Casting is routinely the only one of the credits in the main titles that is omitted when all the others are listed. Many of your readers - agents and actors - want to know who is responsible for casting a show so they know who to contact.

On page 8 of the most recent issue you have 5 bullets. In three of them you list the agent of the person being discussed. We believe that it is just as important to list the casting director of shows that are profiled. And it is worth pointing out that when you talked about Colm Feore you named only his American representation NOT his Canadian! He has been with Gayle Abrams of Oscars Abrams Zimel for his entire career.

We in the CDC are working very hard to raise our profile as a vital and professional organization serving the film industry in Canada. We hope you will continue to help us.
