CDC Diversity Internship Initiative

Our Objective:

To offer an opportunity to someone who would like to make a career as a Casting Director and is from a group that is underrepresented and/or faces barriers to entry into the entertainment industry.  This program is open to anyone who is Black, Indigenous, Racialized, LGBTQ2S+, and/or living with disabilities

 

Deadline to Apply: September 30th, 2022

Internships Available: Two

Duration of Placement: Six weeks (to be completed between October-November 2022)

Stipend: $3600 each

 

Eligibility:

  • Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person on whom refugee status has been conferred

  • Must be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/ territorial legislation and regulations

  • Cannot be an employee or relative of any CDC member

 

Selection Process:

  • The CDC executive will evaluate the applications on their merit and select the finalists

  • Each finalist will be interviewed up to two times, virtually, by the CDC executive and the mentor Casting Director in August, 2022.

  • All finalists’ names will be made available to any CDC members who request them for hiring purposes, for possible short-term contracts in the future.
